Hello friends,
It's actually a praise that it's been awhile since my last entry. Though my desire was not to keep you all in the dark, but the silence from me meant that there was just daily life happening for Trevor. He's been adjusting to his new life at home and the day to day things that need to take place for him to stay healthy. Mom of course plays a big part in all of that as well.
We had a blessed Christmas season with our extended Fennig family over to Mom and Dad's for Christmas Day. They have devised a way of carting Trevor down to the basement (until we get a chair lift in) when we've got a party going on downstairs, which consists of two guys with straps- and a lot of trust on Trevor's part. Ü
Trevor has enjoyed visiting with friends (video gamesÜ), a bit of snowmobiling, several outings, and trips to Wal-mart, which usually include chatting with several people from the community that we run into. I kind of think of him as a bit of a celebrity the way he knows so many people. Ü He enjoys it thoroughly and it has meant a lot to him the way people have been showing him that they care. He went back to school full time last week. He was a bit nervous about the first day, but from there on has been doing well.
Prayer Request:
Mom asked me also to ask for prayer because Trevor has run into some problems. Recently his seat cushion was leaking (gel) which resulted in leaving more pressure on Trevor's left side. We're not sure how long this was the case, but now with some other things that combined agitation, he has developed some pressure sores. When I was in training with Trevor in Parkview and Atlanta, they said a pressure sore is one of your worst enemies. It means that your skin starts to die because the blood has been cut off from reaching the skin, (due to the skin being pressed against the bone for long periods of time without relief.) If it gets very serious, the only solution is Plastic Surgery and months of bed rest. Please pray for speedy healing! This could set him back quite a bit if it does not heal properly and soon.
Thank you for your continued prayer support!
Carly~
